Common Tarocco Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis)

DESCRIPTION
Common Tarocco Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis) is a classic symbol of tradition, quality and italian culture around the World.

ORIGIN

It seems to originate from Southern Italy, Sicily region, where it’s now highly grown all over the island.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant is medium high in vigour, with long and sometimes thorny and falling branches.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate to round-shaped, medium-big in size and bright green in colour.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is a classic sweet round orange.
-Flavour: Pulp is fleshy, usually seedless and very sweet.
-Colour:  Orange to deep orange outside, orange to red-pigmented inside.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness:  It starts to ripen from January to March, depending on climate conditions.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: Common Tarocco Sweet Orange can be highly used in the kitchen.
Fruit can be zested or squeezed according to your needs.
You can make amazing marmalades, liquors, desserts with it!
-Ornamental: It’s a particular ornamental variety for its falling shape.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
