DESCRIPTION
Sorrento Lemon (Citrus limon) is one of the most traditional and delicious lemons of Italy.
It comes from the little town of Sorrento (Campania, southern italy), where it’s highly grew for its amazing and refreshing taste.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is medium in vigour, with long and green branches.
Sometimes a few seeds can be found.
-Leaves: Lanceolate, dark-green leaves.
FRUIT
–Shape: Fruit is a big yellow lemon, quite fleshy and bright. There’s a consistent albedo, and it’s so juicy inside.
-Taste: Have you ever been to Sorrento? It feels like to be there, eating it.
A mixture of a refreshing, aromatic and acid flavour gives you the power of dream!
-Colour: Bright yellow, to deep yellow depending on the harvesting time.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Sorrento Lemon usually ripen during Winter, however fruits can hold well on the tree.
It usually blooms during Spring Time. Flowers are white and exceptionally fragrant.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: If you’ve been to Sorrento, then you should know how to drink limoncello!
This Lemon gives you the power to make limoncello by yourself! Zest can be used to be combined with fish and meat!
Marmalades are also a delicious choice.
-Ornamental: A dark-green plant, with big yellow fruits with a nice ornamental value-
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
