DESCRIPTION
Californian Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) is a particular Citrus variety coming from U.S.

PLANT
-Tree features: It’s a medium vigorous, erect shaped plant with a dense fooliage.
-Leaves: Lanceolate, dark-green leaves.
Just a few thorns are found sometimes.

FRUIT
Shape: Round to slightly oval fruit depending on the growth. It tends to held well on the tree.
There are very few seeds inside.

-Taste: Albedo (White part) is quite bitter. Pulp is usually acid/bitter.

-Colour: Yellow to deep yellow depending on the harvesting time.

SEASON OF RIPENESS
This variety starts to ripen from November to January, according to climate conditions.
It usually blooms during Spring time.

HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: You can obviously squeeze it like a classic Grapefruit. Also the skin can be used to be zested to make cakes or candied too.
-Ornamental: Its shape and the bright coloured fruit make Californian Grapefruit a good ornamental variety.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.

This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
