Rangpur Yellow Lime (Citrus limonia) is a particular Lime variety of our collection.
It probably originates from India, where it’s highly grown.
-Tree features: It is one of the most compact-shaped variety in our greenhouse.
Inernodes seem to be very short from each other, that’s why of its compactness.
-Leaves: Leaves are bright green in colour, and lanceolate in shape, medium-small in size.
-Shape: Fruit is a small yellow lime, sometimes a little bit oboval at the petiol.
-Flavour: Rangpur Yellow Lime is a very juicy variety, with just a few seeds in it.
Skin has a good aroma, pulp is so refreshing!
-Colour: It’s light yellow to yellow-greeny outside, according to the harvesting time.
Pulp is usually light yellow inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: This is a 4 season variety, so it basically produces fruits every season of the year.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring, then continues during Summer and Autumn also.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: This is a useful variety in the kitchen!
It can be used to marinate fish and meat. You can zest the skin to make delicious cakes, marmalades, liquors!
It’s refreshing juice can be drank with water in the Summer.
-Ornamental: It’s a nice ornamental plant because of its 4 season tendency!
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
