DESCRIPTION
Nucellar Valencia Orange (Citrus sinensis) is a high quality late orange variety.
ORIGIN
We still dont’ know its origin, it probably comes from Spain, where it’s highly grown.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plants are usually compact-spherical in shape.
-Leaves: Leaves can be lanceolate to slightly round in shape, medium, sometimes big in size, and bright green in colour.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is round to slightly oval in shape, medium in size.
-Flavour: Skin is intense in aroma, pulp is very juicy and just a little seedy.
-Colour: Orange to deep orange outside, light orange inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: Nucellar Valencia Orange starts to ripen from Spring to summer time, it’s a late variety.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time. Flowers are white and intense in aroma.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Fruit can be highly used in the kitchen, just like any other orange.
You can zest the skin or use it to make delicious desserts or particular fresh recipes.
Amazing to make marmalades, liquors, and obviously summer orange juices.
-Ornamental: It’s a nice ornamental variety, because fruits tend to hold well on trees.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
