DESCRIPTION
Pomona Sweet Lemon (Citrus limetta) is a very particular citrus variety.
PLANT
-Tree features: Compact and spherical in growing.
-Leaves: Not too big leaves, lanceolate, to slighty round.
dark green and intense in colour.
FRUIT
-Taste: very sweet. It’s one of the most delicious and sweet fruits.
It’s easy peeling. The apix has this particular pointed shape.
-Colour: Yellow to dark yellow depending on the ripening.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from mid-November about to January/February depending on the climate and according to the ripening.
It usually blooms during Spring, but sometimes flowers can be found in other seasons.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: It’s so sweet.
So you can sqeeze it like a lemon, if you don’t like acid, but also eat it like a mandarin.
Sometimes seeds can be found.
-Ornamental: It’s a nice looking plant, especially when there are fruits and flowers.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, Pomona Sweet Lemon can resist to a temperature of -5°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
